10 hidden gems in Brighton from coffee to cocktails

Brighton and Hove, a city on the south coast of England is a mecca for anyone looking for alternative, indie and fun things to do and see. It’s a melting pot of creativity, innovation and a vibrant hospitality and music scene.

As someone that has a passion for independent businesses, and values the importance of supporting a local, Brighton is a brilliant example of a community with a thriving local economy.

A few weeks ago I took a trip to Brighton for a long weekend, discovering new-to-me indies and some old favourites too. I love the original mix of independent businesses in Brighton, and how each area has it’s own vibe and character, defined by the businesses, and communities within them. From North Laine to London Road Market and Kemp Town to Hove, there is a rich diversity that makes Brighton unique and always exciting to visit.

So, if you’re thinking of making a trip to Brighton for a long weekend, a day trip from London or a UK seaside getaway, these are my top 10 favourite independent shops, restaurants, hidden gems and things to do your next trip to the city. Discover secret Brighton on your next visit.
